Activities

Whether you have half an hour, or half a day, there’s lots to do in and around Hamilton with your youth and family.

Things to Do this Weekend in Hamilton

To Do Canada provides a weekly digest of What’s On in Hamilton including free, fun family & kids’ activities, live music, theatre & performing arts, and fun activities: Few weekday events are also listed.

Take a Hike

Discover Hamilton’s Hottest Hiking Trails. Hamilton’s outdoor playground is here to help you answer the call to get outside for fresh air and quiet reflection with its vast trail network which includes waterfront routes, lush valleys and the Bruce Trail that winds along the edge of the Niagara Escarpment.

Known as the City of Waterfalls, Hamilton has lots to choose from! Walk, cycle, or just take in the view, find one and enjoy the view.

Canada’s oldest and longest marked footpath – 900 km from Niagara to Tobermory – the Bruce Trail connects you to the wonders of the Niagara Escarpment.

Indoor Activities

While Hamilton may be known as the waterfall capital of the world, the city has so much to offer both outside and indoors including Dundurn National Historic Site, Art Gallery of Hamilton, Hamilton Museum of Steam and Technology and Royal Botanical Gardens.

When Lake Ontario and its surrounding communities become frosty and your nose is rosy with chill, you might be tempted to hibernate until birds chirp the arrival of spring. But with a world of history, gardens, and adventure sports at your disposal all year round, staying at home would be a shame. Find a list of indoor activities in the heart of Ontario that will have you scraping the ice from your windshield and setting off on a fun winter adventure!
