Disabilities

I wish people knew that it’s so ordinary and just like yours, but so not ordinary and not like yours.”

– Emily Flores, 15 yr. old founder of Cripple Magazine, when asked what it was like to navigate life as a disabled teen.

According to the United Nations; Youth with disabilities face the same issues and concerns as those without disabilities, but societal prejudices, barriers, and ignorance can complicate and intensify these concerns. To date, most societies have not fully integrated youth with disabilities, leading to the exclusion and isolation of a large and important segment of the population.
