Emotions During and After Pregnancy
It is normal for their body and feelings to change during pregnancy and after birth. Some of the changes are from hormones. If you’re her mom and have been through these feelings, help her through it by sharing your personal stories and providing her the support you had, or wish you had. Atwell Centre is a safe and non-judgmental environment that provides women and men with support while exploring pregnancy options, testing for sexually transmitted infections, questions post abortion and information around sexual health. Whatever situation you may be in, we’re here to offer our support and guidance during challenging times. Hamilton and Oakville clinics are safe spaces with professional services with a dedicated staff of registered nurses and social workers that you can trust.
Hamilton Women’s Clinic (H.W.C.) is a clinic providing safe and confidential abortions and reproductive health services to women in Southern Ontario.
Pregnancy termination and reproductive health services include:
- counselling (including contraception)
- post-termination care
- Mifegymiso termination medication
- prescription for contraception
- ultrasound imaging
- after hours telephone advice
The Hamilton Midwives provide all of the prenatal, labour, birth and postpartum care that a healthy pregnant person needs.
Their care is FREE even if you don’t have OHIP. You don’t need a doctor’s referral, just complete their online form or give them a call.
Grace Haven offers young pregnant and parenting moms looking for a flexible school alternative help them earn their Ontario Secondary School Diploma with the support of the Salvation Army staff.

Ontario’s Healthy Babies Healthy Children Program is designed to help children get a healthy start in life. The program does this by helping infants and children up to age six and their families through:
- Screening and assessments to see if there are any risks that could affect a child’s healthy development and referrals to community programs and services
- Supports for new parents
- Help in finding community programs and resources on all kinds of subjects such as: breastfeeding, nutrition and health services, parenting programs and family literacy programs
It is a free and voluntary program for:
- Pregnant moms, and
- Families with young children up to the age of six
Parenting education programs provide classes, individual consultation or other educational opportunities for parents or potential parents who want to acquire the knowledge and skills to be effective in their parenting role. Find more information here.
